Wow – what a week

Dear readers,

when I wrote about the upcoming Intergeo fair in my last post, I was planning to send my next article live from the event in Cologne. But the developments which turned this annual trade show into an unforgetable experience kept me completely busy for 3 days.

We were using the Intergeo 2010 to have our worldwide launch of the new FARO Focus3D laser scanner (www.faro.com/focus). And the response of the audience exceeded all our expectations by far!

Of course, we knew in beforehand the main properties of this revolutionary new 3D laser scanner will most probably impress the public:

– 5x smaller

– 4x lighter

– intuitive touch display with iPhone-like look and feel

– color integrated

– 60% less costly

But that people would start already on the first day, spot-on 9 o’clock to invade our small booth and that it would not stop before late afternoon of the last day was more than a positive surprise.

Now I am back home – just to change my luggage and start for a business trip to USA and Singapore tomorrow morning. Over the next days, I will write a little bit more about the development of a new 3D laser scanner and give you some more technical details.

About oliverbuerkler

I am an engineering professional from Germany. Currently working as Product Manager for 3D Laser Scanner and the related software products at FARO. Apart from culture, nature and delicious food, I am interested in modern technologies. Focussing on topics which are related to the keywords "3D", "Imaging", "Modern Technologies" and "Computers" I try to figure out what is making technology a success. What is needed to make things accepted by people? Why are many fascinating products failing while similar gadgets are achieving record sales.
